“Win, Win” Panel:  Monday, October 14 from 3:15 – 4:00 pm

How can angel investors and venture capitalists support quality crowdfunded dealflow and play an important role in the new world of crowdfunding? Each will stand to reap huge benefits from crowdfunding and the relationships they form with crowdfunding platforms, the issuers and innovators and earn an important place in this new ecosystem. This can only happen if all participants open to a more level playing field and a changing capitalistic system for the benefit of everyone.

Why Every Crowdfunding Project Needs a Marketing Plan

Every business plan needs a creative marketing strategy.  A crowdfunding campaign is no exception.  With the number of crowdfunding campaigns being launched each day it is no surprise that you must do something big in order to be heard.  Before you ever think about launching your campaign you must create a crowd winning marketing plan to set as the foundation of your project.

So now that you know that creating an outstanding marketing plan is what you need to get started, what should your marketing plan contain?  Here are a few tips to help you create a successful marketing plan for your crowdfunding campaign:

Message:  When creating your message be sure that it is clear and simple to ensure that your audience will understand the idea you are trying to sell.  Your crowdfunding pitch should grab the attention of potential backers so that they will be eager to invest in your project.  Don’t just assume that people will understand.

Audience Reach:  Be sure to define which market you intend to reach during your campaign and use the appropriate marketing channels to reach your particular audience.  Your pitch should be designed to appeal to your audience of choice.  Look to make your pitch personal by showing others why your idea is important to you and why it would make a difference to others.

Sell Your Project:  For others to believe in you it is important that you believe in yourself and your campaign.  Your campaign will be more successful because of your believers.  It is up to you to sell yourself and make others want to invest in you.

Crowdfunding is essentially the same as any other business.  If you want to achieve your dreams you must have a successful marketing approach.  Take the time to develop your plan and know that by doing so your campaign will be on the road to success.

Make A Big Bang With Your Crowdfunding Campaign!

Do you have the burning desire to start something new?  If so, Crowdit can help.  Here at Crowdit we help people like you share your dreams and allow you to believe that your dream is within reach.

Getting started is easy.  To start visit our website and share your ideas.  With the increase in technology it is easier than ever to reach out to people through fundraising to make your dream become a reality.  But is it really that easy?

In order to make an impression you must dig deeper and look for strategies that will set you apart from other dreamers like you.  For you to make a big bang with your Crowdfunding campaign use the following tips as a guide to success.

  1. Sell your story:  People love to hear stories.  What made you decide to follow this dream?  Whatever the reason may be, share it and let others share your fire too.

  2. What’s in it for them:  People want to know what benefits they will receive by following your dream.  If your campaign offers some type of reward or opportunity you have created an incentive for followers to invest in your campaign fund.

  3. Market your ideas:  Allow others to share your excitement by sharing your campaign at a local event to increase the number of followers.

  4. Provide proof:  Inform people why your dream is important by providing evidence that your idea is credible.  Pictures and videos are great visuals for people to relate to when deciding to support you.

  5. Follow up:  Keep in contact with those who have supported your dream.  Provide updates by emailing or using other social media outlets to keep them informed.

By choosing to follow these strategies your Crowdit campaign is sure to go off with a bang.

Top 3 Mistakes People Make When Marketing Their Crowdfunding Campaign

Have you ever wondered why your campaign isn’t going anywhere?  You have shared your ideas for your project but aren’t seeing any results.  Maybe you are going about it the wrong way.  It doesn’t matter if you choose to use Kickstarter, Rockethub, Indiegogo or Crowdit to launch your Crowdfunding campaign everyone makes mistakes.  With that being said, it is vital to focus on every detail to avoid making mistakes when marketing your Crowdit campaign.  Of the many mistakes you can face there are three top mistakes that you want to avoid.

  1. No Visuals:  You may have a great idea to share, but poor use of visuals and audio can put a negative effect on the outcome of your campaign and allow people to pass by without another thought.  What will that say about the quality of your campaign?  People may feel that with your lack of effort you will never be able to follow through, so why should they help you.  Visuals are powerful tools and can help you sell your ideas for your project.  Using visuals can help influence others and make them become believers too.
  2. Unreachable Expectations:  Money is always a touchy subject.  After you have delivered your campaign it is up to you to convince others not only why you need money, but what you plan to do with it.  If people feel that your expectations are unreachable they will not even consider investing money in your project.  You have to show them otherwise.  Those who are clear and honest have an advantage over those who are not.  When people understand they are more likely to contribute to your campaign goals as long as they are within reach.
  3. Poor Marketing:  The most important thing to remember when marketing your project is to not beg for money.  You are not desperate.  People do not care how bad you want or need this to happen.  People care about the outcome of your idea and what rewards or opportunities are in it for them.  Begging is a poor marketing technique and can not only hurt your credibility, but also destroy your campaign entirely.  You wouldn’t want people to beg you for money so allow people to become inspired by your ideas and want to invest in you instead of giving you money to get you off their back.

Learning to overcome and work through these mistakes can be challenging, but it can be done.  Remember you get what you give, so make it count!

CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI TO TAP CROWDFUNDING, SELECTS CROWDIT FOR ROUTE 66 SGF RENOVATION PROJECT

City sees great opportunity to involve community in restoring the birthplace of one of nation’s most historic highways

SPRINGFIELD, MO, Aug. 1, 2013 – CrowdIt (www.crowdit.com), the first company to bring business networking and support services into the crowdfunding experience, today announced that the City of Springfield, Missouri has selected it to crowdfund major elements of its Route 66 SGF Roadside Park, a key new landmark of historic Route 66 through the city (http://www.springfieldmo.gov/collegestreet/index.html). As the birthplace of Route 66, Springfield is the first municipality to use crowdfunding to help renovate the renowned national highway. CrowdIt was selected because of its local Springfield roots and early growing success in the crowdfunding market.

“Citizens have asked how they can help renovate the birthplace of the historic Route 66 highway,” said Springfield Mayor Bob Stephens. “By enlisting the support of the community with citizen donations through Crowdit (a local supporter, employer and business), we feel we are helping play an important role in restoring the very essence of what Route 66 symbolizes – a piece of America that runs through the heart of our country.  Route 66 has touched so many people and they want to be a part of the legacy of what this highway means to America.”

City officials will be on hand at Springfield’s Route 66 Festival, which takes place 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 10 at Springfield’s Park Central Square to provide additional information about the initiative. CrowdIt will be donating all the proceeds received to the renovation project. For more information on how to get involved or if you are a local business looking to support the community renovation project, please visit: (https://www.crowdit.com/home/contact). For example, Mother’s Brewing Company (http://mothersbrewing.com/) is the first local company to partner with CrowdIt and the city to help make this project a success.

“As a long-time resident, supporter and entrepreneur of Springfield, CrowdIt is proud to help play such an important role in demonstrating the energy, enthusiasm and devotion of our local community toward helping renovate historic Route 66,” said Jason Graf, co-founder and CEO of CrowdIt. “The crowd and community of Springfield have a great opportunity to band together and show its support as the birthplace of this nationwide highway. Together, we know we can make Springfield the example of what American pride means. We are grateful to the city for this opportunity and look forward to showcasing how strong and passionate Springfield citizens’ are when it comes to preserving and restoring such an American icon.”
